I often like to say that art is like sports: part of it is talent, but the rest is all about practice and keeping your creative muscles in good shape. Then, I am also unrepentantly lazy, so I need extra motivation... challenges and stuff (other than professional deadlines) always help, but today I'd like to put Michael Nobbs' 75 ways to draw more project in the spotlight. "75 ways..." is simply a booklet you can download for free from here: [link] It lists 75 easy exercises to get you to draw more (duh!). I just printed it... now let's see if I can keep up with that, lol.

Another project I joined on Flickr (although I ended up slacking) is Make something cool every day [link] , where the goal is to post some art (illustration, design, photography, everything is fair game) every day. There's lots of talented people posting there and just looking around in the group is a great inspiration.

Last but not least, ~HP-199 has invited me to share my canon-based HP art for his Harry Potter Companion site [link] I suggest you go take a look at the project because it's really impressive and - incredibly for such a big and well established fandom - as far as I know HP didn't have a comprehensive fanmade companion yet; I especially appreciate that it doesn't shy away from pointing at the occasional inconsistencies, because being a fan doesn't mean you have to leave critique out of the door My profile at the site is here: [link]

Virus alert guys! Beware posts on your walls saying anything along the lines of "funny pic HERE" or "I've seen your art HERE" I don't know what happens exactly but apparently it's a page wrecking virus made by some looser hacker LOOSER, and I've had about ten posts on my wall from different deviants with the exact same message of "To see a funny pic click HERE" (or something to that effect.) So better safe than sorry, flag as spam folks! DO NOT CLICK!!! (Sauce: [link])

I didn't get that kind of spam myself, but I guess it's just sensible to spread the word. Better safe than sorry. ETA: I got a couple of those messages today and marked them as spam, apparently there's this bot which hacks existing accounts and uses them to post the virus comments. My my, if I waited a little longer it would have been a year since the last update... I tend to forget this thing has a journal feature as well, lol. I also know that the art sale I promised didn't come - I *will* get around to do it... eventually. It's just that in the last year I've been working a lot - including both a job as a librarian and my first "real" assignments as a comic artist... Lol, I got on this roll of making portrait for the cast of Lost - I'm not going to do all of them, just my favorites... and until I grow tired of the game. Too bad in Italy we're only halfway through season 3 ç_ç so please, NO SPOILERS, kthnxbai.
